  • Visit the PayPal Lesotho website here. This is possible because of the business relations we have with countries across the continent.
  • Click on the Sign-Up button to begin the registration process.
  • Choose Business Account. This gives you more functionality including being able to receive funds and creating invoices.

  • Enter a secure password. Make sure your password includes both upper and lower cases, special characters, and numbers. Do not use a password that you use for other accounts. It must be unique.
  • The next step is to fill in your legal name (First and last name) and the name of your company since it is a business account. If you run a business, you can write the name of the business. If you don’t have a business, you can use your name (e.g. Asante Ent.)
  • Change the number location to Ghana and type a working phone number. This will be used for verification, which opens up more functionality for you.
  • Write your business address or residential address in the Address field.
  • Keep the currency as U.S Dollar and check the box to agree to the User Agreement and Privacy Statement. Click on Agree and Continue.
  • PayPal will now require you to describe your business. Choose any from the drop-down that describes your business.
  • You’ll be sent to the “Tell us more about you” page. Fill in your date of birth accurately.

For the nationality select Ghana.

Choose any national ID you have and then type the number

  • After clicking Continue, you’ll be sent to the PayPal dashboard where you have all the control over how you want to use your account.
  • Head over to your email account and verify your PayPal account to be able to use the account fully.

How to Link Your Bank Card to Your PayPal account

To be able to withdraw funds from your PayPal account, you will need to link your Bank Card to your PayPal account. PayPal accepts most credit and debit cards including VISA and MasterCard. To link your card, follow the steps below:

  • Scroll down to the notification section and click on the See Details button beneath the Link Card notification
  • In the next window, select Link a credit card. You cannot link a bank because Ghana is still blacklisted by PayPal
  • Start typing the card number and the system will automatically detect the type of card you’re using (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover)
  • Fill in the Expiry date and Security code (or CVV) on the card and click on Link Card

You have successfully created a new PayPal account. You can use it for all your online transactions and after linking your card, you can fund it or withdraw money with no hassle at all.
